Help Eliminate Aggie House’s Restoration Debt

Since 1937, Aggie House has been the home base for our future ranchers, farmers and agricultural students at the University of Arizona. But for the past 20+ years of disrepair and lack of renovation funding, the structure had become more of a hazard than a haven. Thankfully, alumni Wade Accommazzo stepped up to fund the renovation with $1.2 million and, today,  the Aggie House is back to the level of quality and safety we expect for the next generation of our ag community.

However, this renovation has left the Aggie house in debt for the first time in 75 years. Thankfully, a few of our alumni have made contributions that have brought the balance of the renovation debt down to  $663,500. In order to retire the debt completely, we are asking for your help to ensure this legacy remains in the hands of the Aggie House Cooperative – so the young men of the house can continue to pay an economically reasonable rent and not be burdened with the stress of this debt while attending school.

With your contributions, the University of Arizona’s oldest social organization will continue to provide students within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with opportunity for cost effective housing, professional development, social life and the legacy and traditions of Aggie House, Inc. for many years to come.

The active members have been hard at work building a plan to ensure there will be sufficient funding going forward to support future renovations that will be required every five to ten years. New active member requirements are being implemented that will fill every room with members paying a fair and affordable rent to support the short and long-term financial requirements of the House upkeep and maintenance into the future.

To retire the $663,500 renovation debt, we are asking for your support. Every dollar donated is appreciated and makes a difference to help ensure the future of the House. If we are unable to raise the remaining funds, the house will need to secure a mortgage, which will not be an easy feat, if it is even possible.
